The End's little sister, AKA, celebrated it's ninth birthday on Wednesday July 25th. The night was themed on Thai Beach Parties and was completely decked out with beach huts, hammocks, tropical plants and even parrots (not real ones, obviously, that wouldn't work.) We had Marky, Layo, Luke Solomon, Will Saul, Sancho Panza, Jim Wood and Aldo Vanucci helping us celebrate, and suffice to say it was a blast! Happy birthday AKA! |

On the 2nd December The End turned 11! Whilst little sister AKA is a few years behind, that didn’t stop us partying like there’s no tomorrow, and we had Comeshakethewhole bringing their quirky electronic knees up to host the shenanigans. Stan Fontan, Chicken Lips, Cosmo and Anu Pillai were joined by The Earlyman doing their live thing. The mezzanine sparkled with hundreds of stars and the ceiling was adorned with AKA’s famous upsidedown Christmas trees. Check out some of the fantastic pics taken by Simon Mackney. |

BLIND TIGER LAUNCH
29TH SEPTEMBER 2006
The launch of our new 1920’s style Friday night at AKA went roaringly, with gangsters and molls turning up in force to drink, dance and marvel at Lady G Luck’s magical burlesque acrobatics above the dancefloor. Aldo Vanucci pulled a delicious mix of pop, hip hop, indie, house, funk, soul and more out of his Mary Poppins-style record box, and the bar staff defied prohibition to serve delicious Blind Tiger cocktails to all and sundry. Swell. |

The Players favourites Mutiny joined Jim Wood behind the decks this week to cause maximum dancefloor mayhem in AKA among the Tuesday night faithful. Whoever thought Tuesday clubbing would be so popular? The Players continues to prove that Tuesdays are indeed the new Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays all rolled into one. Down in The End Discuss kicked up a fuss with everything from broken beat to electric funk. |

AKA QUIZ

The people of AKA were trying to use their minds instead of lose them (although maybe there was a little bit of both involved as the beer flowed!) at the last quiz on September 5th. Comedian Rob Hamilton hosted the proceedings, masterfully presiding over several rounds including celebrity gossip, pictures, audio, and even a moustache-based round. |
