Nocturnal has long been one of AKA's most popular parties, and rightfully so. After spreading their wings and throwing Nocturnal parties elsewhere last year, for 2008 The Shapeshifters are back in their spiritual home. Simon Marlin, one half of the hugely successful duo, explains; "I really missed the feel we had at AKA, which is why I'm really excited to be going back to where it all started." Nocturnal has a hugely loyal following, and AKA is always packed to the rafters every time they're here - with every set of feet on the dancefloor and every pair of hands in the air all night long.
The Shapeshifters head up of the excellent Nocturnal Groove label, responsible for releasing upbeat, melodic house music aimed squarely at the dancefloor. After producing together for several years, in 2003 they released ‘Lola’s Theme’ – creating a huge buzz at the Miami Winter Music Conference and becoming one of the biggest tunes of the year. Proving they were no one hit wonders, their debut artist album released in 2006 ‘Sound Advice’ combined punchy electro and pure feel good house music with more downtempo tracks, and they are currently working on a follow up.
