HOLIC
Holic started throwing parties in AKA at the start of 2007, and in a short time it’s become one of the hottest Thursday nights around. Their secret recipe? They won’t tell us – but it may have something to do with resident DJ and promoter Tomoki Tamura (Geisha Disco Boys) playing all that is good about house music – from deep and melodic early on to more upbeat electrified sounds later. It may also have something to do with the high caliber of guests who drop in every month – Andrew Weatherall, Jimpster, Terry Farley, Rocky and Stuart Patterson have all recently held court at Holic to a rapturous reception. Perhaps it could be their attention to detail – Holic look after the sights as well as the sounds, as VJ’s such including Sol, Twisted Spectra and Fclow are on hand every party to create a unique vibe in AKA. It could also be the loyal and lively following that Holic have built up, making a Thursday night feel more like a Saturday night. Whatever it is they are doing, they can just keep on doing it. One more excuse to start you weekend early - as if you didn't have enough already...
