Blind Tiger at AKA - vamping up your Friday nights
Blind Tiger is inspired by 1920s Speakeasies. The underground, decadent nature of these parties gave the ‘Roaring Twenties’ its nickname. AKA’s Fridays are a nod back to those heady times – with secret passwords; a clandestine entrance to the venue; popular cocktails of the day, and the venue brought alive with 1920s visuals and décor.
Our DJ for the night, Aldo Vanucci plays everyone’s favourite records. A genre-spanning genius, he plays a mix of the coolest soul, classic hip hop, disco, pop and indie. The perfect person to head up our Speakeasy soundsystem, he’s co-produced Fatboy Slim’s new single – being labelled an ‘obsessive vinyl junkie’ by Fatboy in the process, and has remixed everyone from Jackson 5 to Queen, from Max Sedgley to Dr Dre.
We also have entertainment from leading Burlesque performers - including aerial rope performances high above the dancefloors, fan dances on the bar, burlesque fire eating, and more. Email below to find out when the next show is.
